Bio
Excès Nocturne is founded Sallaumines (near Lens) in 1984. After a first 7" with a singer (Richard Gradisnik) in 1986 the group changed its line-up and welcomes Ariane singing and writing texts and Richard Horon on bass guitar. From 86 to 89, Exces Nocturne toured and recorded several tapes and a 12inch. The drummer Thierry Horon leave the group before ithe band separates into 1989. Infrastition released a compilation CD in November 2006, featuring two new tracks, Mots dits and Et du bleu …
In 2006, the band reformed for a few concerts at the release of their retrospective on the french label Infrastition. They are currently working on new material.

"Formed in 1982, Opéra de Nuit is a french new-wave band belonging the independant scene from early 80s, including five musicians, four from Valréas and the fifth from the Drôme department, in southeastern France. Self-taught band bringing a certain kind of will, the Opera wanders from halls to basements, from attics to caves: they multiply concerts in France and elsewhere (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, ...), as well as their interviews and radio broadcasts.

Their first EP, Amour Noir, is recorded in 1984. Then, Sourire de l'Ombre was the second EP recorded in 1986. S/T (LP) was set up in 1988, propelling the five musicians adventure to an concrete and sensitive form. The disc is a tumultuous invitation to the Opera's vessel. Then and finally in 2005, the song Ami! Amant! will appear on "Transmission, 81-89: The French-Cold wave", a compilation made in a tribute to the leading bands of the independent French scene (L'Enfance Eternelle, Guerre Froide, Baroque Bordello, KaS Product, ...)."

L'Enfance Eternelle - Le jour des fous

"L’Enfance Eternelle is born in November 83. The story starts quite fastly as a gig is found before the first note to be played. September 85 sees a second TV on FR3, then come the recording of a new 4 track demo tape, issued to 500 copies and quickly sold out. On May 17 1986 a gig at La Bourse Du travail in Lyon with the band Gestalt is recorded, to be the first album. 1200 peoples attend to theis Jour des Fous. From September to December 1988 the second album is recored, La Terre des Innocents. The release party accored at le Truck in front of 1200 persons for a party together with their old chaps Opéra de Nuit on April 15 1989. The last demo, never finished is the end of the band in December 1990. Bertrand “Cheap” goes on with Bob's Your Uncle and The Camelia Street Blury Experiment in Paris. Fabrice Della-Malva and Jérôme “Dien” Bideaux make an hardcore band: Garlic Frog Diet. Christophe Neau goes for jazz rap with Lex Léo. Pat aka DJ Pee found his own band Le Peuple de l’Herbe, his brother Kriss doing the sound for concerts with the succes we know. Marquis opens a trendy piercing shop on Lyon. Franck “Kreppux” goes on with theatre and chanson. Pascal “Bô Mouton” Prenez band’s photographer becomes a syndicalist. Jérôme Margotton founds the acid jazz band Mo’ Jazz Beats, and then mOko (www.moko.fr). Denis Lecarme runs into French chanson with L’Orchestre de Poche and nowadays under is own name www.denislecarme.com"

French band Lucie Cries from Mouy emerged as the brainchild of bassist/singer Olivier Paccaud back in 1988 and ended 1996.

Odessa - Attente 7"

Odessa was a cold wave band from Poitiers, a rock city in the 80's, in France.
It was one of the first punk bands in town. Before Odessa, it was IVe Reich, IVe Reich split, one branch (Erik Gerard), created ODESSA and the other (Sion brothers) formed a punk rock band called OFFSET and after a well know local punk pop band called EMERGENCY.

Trop Tard - "Photodrame" and "Ils étaient 9 dans l'obscurité"

Maybe my favorite cold wave band, it calls me back my weakened memories. There's no much information about Trop Tard but I like the mystery which surrounds the band. The time cracked memoirs.

Another music blog about french cold wave and rarities.

I will post some news, videos and issues from my own collection and others I haven't.
Most of the records are not reissued until now.

I wish that this blog is above all a data base for the concerned artists.
Articles will be regulary updated with the aim of releases, chronicles, interviews, new projects.

If you have some informations to be brought on these artists, you can send me an e-mail that I edit articles.

The downloads will be made essentially by Megaupload and Rapidshare.

The works alignments are rarities, and difficult to get.
As regards new releases, they will not be put in download because they are available on the sale. There will be a link towards labels distributing them.
